SWISS planning fleet reduction; anticipating thousands of job losses - report 25.05.2003 19:34:42, Europe(AFX).ZURICH (AFX) - Swiss International Airlines AG is working on a new radical business plan, which will lead to a substantial fleet reduction and job cuts, according to a report in SonntagsZeitung. The new plan, according to corporate insiders, sees the long-haul fleet reduced to 18 from 26 planes, with the mid-haul fleet facing a similar level of reductions. The reorganization will lead to roughly 3,000 job losses out of the current 9,000 employees at the airline, with 2,000 jobs affected at other airport-related companies, it said. The reorganization measures will take effect for the winter 2003/04 schedule, it added.

welcher zu massiven Flottenreduktion und Stellenabbau führen wird. Gemäss Firmen-Spezialisten soll die
Langstreckenflotte von 26 auf 18 Flugzeuge reduziert werden, und die Mittelstreckenflotte erwartet ähnliche
Reduktionen. Die Neuorganisation wird zu ungefähr 3000 Stellenverlusten von zur Zeit 9000 Angestellten der
